(Photo by Chuck Hinrichs) Trenton is in Todd County, KY and US 41 passes through the middle of town. Trenton is about 7 miles north of Guthrie and about 16 miles south of Hopkinsville. CSX's Henderson Sub parallels US 41 and is roughly two blocks east of the main highway. There are four grade crossings in the Trenton area. The top shot looking south has the water tank to help frame the shot. The main crossing is on KY 848 at MP 223.3. This location provides good shots both north (with the water tank) and south (with a grain facility on the west side of the track) and good views of meets on the Trenton siding. There is ample parking on both sides of the track at the 848 crossing.South of KY 848 is another grade crossing at Rosenwald St, MP 223.1. Good telephoto shot here of the South Trenton signal. The bottom shot on the north side of town KY 475 crosses the tracks at MP 224.3 with open shots in both directions, and the north Trenton siding signal to the south. In Trenton proper there are three crossings. KY 104 crosses the tracks at MP223.4 with a good shot down the main and siding. |
