Guthrie, Ky

How to get there:

Guthrie is in Todd County, KY and is right on the Kentucky/Tennessee border.  CSX has a yard in Guthrie and interchanges here with R J Corman's Memphis line.  The Corman line is the ex CSX exx L&N Memphis line.  The Corman tracks run from Memphis Junction in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Cumberland City west of Clarksville, TN.  Corman has an engine facility here as well as a dispatching office.  The Memphis Line/Henderson Sub diamond was removed some years ago and Corman now crosses the Henderson Sub using one of two wyes on the west side and the single south leg on the east side (the north-east leg of the wye is out of service.

Park St. (the street continuing straight ahead where US 41 turns south in downtown Guthrie) crosses the tracks at MP 215.95.  There are good shots both north and south with the middle Guthrie signals to the south.

There is parking on the east side of the tracks.  There is limited access to the yard office by going around the north side of the Corman engine house or from a gravel turnoff just south of the Corman tracks on US 41.  There are lots of good photo opportunities here of both CSX and R J Corman action.

The south end of the CSX yard is to the east of US 41 at about the Tennessee state line on a road leading to the Koppers plant.  This is about MP 215 and shots are available in both directions with parking available on both sides of the tracks.
