How to get there:

Take US 41 South through Nortonville headed toward Crofton, Ky. About one mile from the four way stop you'll find New Salem Circle to the right. This photo was taken from the bridge over the tracks and there's plenty room to park on the West side of the bridge.

A  LORAM railgrinder train was busy on CSX's Henderson Sub.  The unit spent the weekend in Hopkinsville and headed north on Monday.  On Tuesday (May 6, 2003) the grinder was working north from Crofton.  Chuck Hinrichs caught the crew just south of Nortonville at MP H263 with lots of sparks and smoke.  Chuck caught this shot from the Cemetery bridge.      Digital image by Chuck Hinrichs
